DJ Application for Fall 2008
Becoming a DJ with WOO 91 is simple, and we provide
you with all of the skills necessary to be successful
in radio. To become a DJ you must first take our
Radio Workshop (COMM 130), offered by the Communications
Department every semester. The class will teach
you the basics of radio, help you build an on-air
personality, inform you about WOO 91 and FCC policies
and procedures, and give you experience on-air
and working with our studio equipment.
Once you have taken the Radio Workshop you can fill out
a show application and receive a show the following
semester. Student DJs can have a radio show on
a purely volunteer basis or enroll in COMM 130.02
where their radio show will count as credit with
the Communications Department.
Once a DJ with the station, interested students
have the option of applying for positions on Line
Staff (management assistants) and eventually for
Station Management.
Being a part of WOO 91 is a rewarding and enjoyable
experience. Holding a completely format free radio
show on a great college station is a great opportunity.
Anyone interested in joining WOO 91 should contact
station management or enroll in COMM 130 and find
out just how great college radio with WOO 91 can
be.
