Thanks for your interest in joining the WOO 91 Management Team. WCWS-FM is one of the few college radio stations that is run entirely by students. Therefore, being chosen as a member of the Management Team provides a great learning opportunity and leadership experience, which will transfer not only in the radio world but the business world as well. Any member of the staff who has been a DJ for at least one semester may apply to the Management Team.
The application process consists of this written application and an interview with outgoing members of the Management Team and the Station Advisor. Final approval is made by the Radio Advisory Committee (RAC). Please note that all positions are vacant and any current member of management who wishes to return to the Management Team must reapply. All WCWS management positions are paid positions, and therefore carry a significant amount of responsibility and authority. All members of Management must hold office hours each week, in addition to preparing and attending regularly scheduled meetings with the RAC, the Management Team, and the Line Staff. Although highly encouraged, no member of Management is required to hold a weekly radio show.
Management positions at WOO 91 will be selected on the basis of character, experience, and ability. The Management Team will be constituted in a manner that reflects the best interests of the station. Relevant outside experience will be considered, but WCWS-FM experience is the primary criterion. Other factors such as class year may be considered on a secondary basis. Positions are open to all eligible students at the College of Wooster regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital or veteran status, or political affiliation.
