The NEW Saturday Programming on WOO 91!

Each Saturday, you’ll hear our most eclectic blend of programming, including Big Band music, public affairs, The Toll Brothers Metropolitan Opera, College of Wooster Student Recitals, Scot Basketball Games, and Yanfo Hackman’s Hip Hop and R&B Show.

BIG BAND SATURDAY MORNINGS (6 a.m. to Noon)

Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Ella Fitzgerald—they’re all here on WOO 91 Saturday Mornings.  These musicians created the first “pop” music in United States, and its quality has rarely been surpassed since 1940s.  Tune in each Saturday morning to enjoy these great tunes!

COMMUNITY FORUM (Noon-1:30)

WOO 91 has always prided itself as a “Public Service Station of The College of Wooster.”  Saturday afternoons is when you can hear in-depth interviews of the Wayne County Community in “Community Forum” and on education with National Productions’ “The Best of Our Knowledge.”

THE TOLL BROTHERS METROPOLITAN OPERA (1:30-6:00 p.m.)

LIVE from Lincoln Center!  This radio classic has been a staple of WOO 91 and Wayne County for years.  Here at The College of Wooster, the student management firmly backs the Met Opera and its glorious traditions.  Tune in for an exciting afternoon of LIVE opera!

COLLEGE OF WOOSTER STUDENT RECITALS (6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.)

College of Wooster musicians are some of the most talented individuals in the country.  Existing outside of the “conservatory” atmosphere, Scot musicians from all academic disciplines perform fantastic music for our listening pleasure each Saturday evening.

FIGHTING SCOT BASKETBALL (7:30-9:30 p.m.)

The basketball team with the best winning percentage of the entire NCAA (all divisions) of the 2000s lives right here in Wooster (209-33).  The College of Wooster Fighting Scot Basketball Team flies by opponents in Timken Gymnasium each week, and you can hear the coverage on WOO 91!  Listen at 90.9 FM or on COW-TV channel 11 each Saturday for our basketball play by play of the week.

YANFO HACKMAN (10:00-Midnight)

Listeners can call in and request their favorite hip hop/rap/r&b tracks every Saturday night on one of the hottest shows on WOO 91.  Need a dance party?  DJ Fo has a solid collection of the best music to spice up any party.
